Tara Janzen: Cutting Loose

Lily Robbins, a teacher from New Mexico, has come to be in possession of a super-secret data file while filming a documentation in El Salvador. Everyone, including the Russian Mob and assorted other Crime Lords, wants to have the data file, and they won't hesitate to kill Lily to get it. Zachary Prade, employee of an equally super-secret American governmetal organization and formerly known as South American drug dealer Alejandro Campos, is supposed to retrieve the file, with or without saving Lily. Of course he chooses the latter option, and off they go on a wild flight through the American South West...

This book is fairly entertaining, but it isn't one that you absolutely have to read. None of the characters act puke-inducingly stupid, but they aren't particularly memorable either. They have plenty of technical gadgets which are rather unbelievable, but since I don't mind seeing those in James Bond movies, I also don't mind reading about them in a book. This is a "satisfactory" book (Grade C).
