In this part of the series, mind-reader Sookie Stackhouse has to deal with a vampire queen, a were-tiger (her new, bald-headed boyfriend), werewolves wanting revenge, and assorted witches. This is a fun book to read, and for all the fantasy creatures showing up, Sookie seems to be a very down-to-earth, sensible character. There are somethings that are more than a little far-fetched - like the vampire queen wanting Sookie to join her celebration, when humans are clearly unwanted there, but Sookie acts with an intrinsic logic that I really appreciate. Oh, and the coolest scene in the book is without a doubt the ectoplasmic reconstruction. That's really a fantastic idea! This is a very good book (Grade A).
